Nepal filmfest to host Iranian ‘Private’

Iranian short film ‘Private’ has been selected to compete at the fifth edition of the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF).

Directed by Sara Mokhavat, the short film narrates the story of three high school girls struggling to clear their names from an accusation that stains forever.

Also written by Mokhavat, the cast of the film includes Tara Abtahi, Dorsa Katal, Neda Golrangi, Sara Mokhavat, and Nadia Norouzzadeh.

The short film has previously participated in the 57th edition of the Chicago International Film Festival in the US.

According to the official website of NIFF, it is “an initiative born out of a desire to conduct exchanges in film and culture between Nepal and the rest of the world”.

Started in 2018, the festival aims to promote various forms of storytelling from around the world.

The Nepal Film Festival will be held on March 24-28, 2022.
